View allThe performance of the drive is quite good. I'm getting 100MB/s read and 80MB/s write.
wd started doing this way back in 2009 (maybe earlier, but that's the date of my 500gb franken-drive) and toshiba started with their 1.5tb drives, then back-tracked the tech to their latest 1tb and lower models.
Promo code on shop.ca makes the price ~$102. More expensive than staples (before deal died)
Surprised they had to open the sealed packaging. When I asked if this was now to be sold as open box, the cashier said it would be sent back to the supplier.
I'm surprised how much heft Staples has. I thought only Costco and Walmart and possibly Bestbuy had that prerogative but I guess Staples is also a heavy weight especially after the demise of Office Depot.
That is what happened with me as well. All that means is the stock level is not accurate and not updated as there were a bunch of sales today. You have to try your luck with another store. i did 85 Ellesemere location and it showed 4, but when i checked out it was out of stock. I changed to 850 milner location for today store pickup and it was available. Might be sold out now as well, but try a few different locations. Store is closed now early for the holidays, but try again at a couple locations and one will go through.
It doesn't work. The system is bugged. I chose option "Pickup at the store", I selected the store that had 6 available, and the item got added to my cart; but when I checkout, it says that my cart is empty and item is out of stock. T^T.
Thank you for suggestion.
850 Milner Ave. (showed 13 in store). Store is open until 5pm today for civic holiday. Lady said 8 left and my order is available for store pickup.
