View allSo, I'm buying this remote for one button. How sad is that?
The usual best price I see for these new is $40. Hopefully another deal will come along.
However it does have many of the other Harmony attributes that make it a great deal compared to other cheap programmable remotes:
- You can choose your 4 devices from the vast array of devices supported in the Harmony database, pretty much everything new and old
- You can use their online programming app to assign any function to any button and then download the layout to the remote via USB, and it has enough buttons to cover most devices
- It has the standard Harmony infrared learning capability to add new commands from other remotes to your personal Harmony command set
- It has a relatively strong Ir signal, does well with devices that usually require the remote to be pointed directly at them
- You can use the advanced Harmony features to adjust the exact timing and number of repeats of Ir codes to solve problems like missed commands or unintentional repeats with finicky devices
I guess I'll just continue buying the 650. I'm glad they finally removed the 5 device restriction on the 650. That was so stupid.
I ponied up for the 650 refurb from CC for $50 but otherwise this is a good basic optiom for tvs where the remote has gone missing
