I ran through the procedure here (more or less): http://blog.laptopmag.com/how-to-replac ... ith-an-ssd
I used OSX Mavericks as I'm not a big fan of Yosemite for numerous reasons. the Major one being Kext Signatures (Specifically for TRIM). Read more here -> https://www.cindori.org/documentation/
This is what it looked like http://i.imgur.com/U9ECFu0.jpg
With TRIM enabled and running OSX 10.9.5, I'm really pleased with the performance overall.
I was questioning my purchase over the MX200 until I read the review in the link you provided. This part of the summary pretty much says what I needed to hear:
"The pricing is obviously higher than BX100, but compared to other high-end SATA drives the MX200 is pretty reasonably priced. That said, it still doesn't provide enough value for the money because the only advantage the MX200 has over the BX100 is hardware encryption, but if that's something you need/want the 850 EVO provides better bang for the buck given that it's cheaper, offers higher performance and you even get a 5-year warranty versus Crucial's three years."

Any ideas? I know it can be finicky. Anyone have quick solutions?

its staples though - as long as you didnt use a visa debit you can always return the item in store for instant refund if they dont honor a PM request; i have no problems giving them the benefit of the doubt at this point, dont see why the chat reps would screw you over if you dont abuse the coupons.
Ahh ok, thanks man.
Haven't done a PM in a while.
However, I didn't get the details in my chat like you outlined (foolish newb me).
I only sent them the competitor's price and I also stacked a coupon on the original price...hoping it all works out!
They wont refund your credit card when you purchase because the item has not left the dropshipper, only once it arrives (technically i think you can get credit once its in transit) will they credit you, just because they also dont charge you til it is in transit..
helps to avoid things where they refund you a credit - and than the drop shipper fails to come through with the order for whatever reason - seeing it alot with 3rd party reseller sites now.
i have had no issue doing that twice now. just make sure to use livechat and go over the details of the order (what im paying now, where the pm is and its accepted / verified as of this time on notes, how much am i getting refunded exactly, and when do i call in for the refund) ... than it emails you confirmation and should be good to go incase something happens
Similar thing to me...trying to get staples to PM the Crucial MX200 on amazon for $231 and was told to order first, when I receive to live chat back and get the price adjusted.
They made a note on my account and I need to provide the session #.
Bizarre...let's see how this goes...
So hoping to get the PM of $230 and apply my $20 off coupon so it comes out to $210.
Not the best price but decent I guess....
that will make them lose 20$ right away either u win or not.
hope this help.
EDIT: Live chatted with them, they confirmed the refund went through today of the amount I was told I'd be getting. I hung up during the phone call with Staples when they called me. There's no way they could charge my card back the $30 right? Would they need authorization? I'm a bit worried...
Anyone has an extra one and willing to sell it to me? I am located in Richmond BC
Since crucial mx200 uses MLC and this new 850 Evo is "new", I am going to go with the known reliable MX200 as this will be my main rig...
More information never hurts. Not saying that the Crucial MX200 drives are bad but unless it is a good sale price, it shouldn't be your only option from Crucial.
I used the pm method mentioned in this thread, which is to place the order online and then call to get the pm refund. No shipping charges with this method and I got to use my coupon.
In order to address this, Samsung's 3D modules stack cells vertically in addition to the usual planar arrangement, allowing them to create larger capacity SSDs using larger, more reliable cells.

Not the exact seller but the bracket is the exact same.
Does the job and cheap - though shipping will probably take a while...
On a side note, NCIX raised the price of the Crucial MX200 to $249.99 AND staples denied my PM...boooo
Anyone else who got one find a good cheap 3.5" or 5.25" bracket to fit into a PC?
Links appreciated.
