My point being is dont believe the hype, the internet is full of it and take the advice of someone who has had many years of experience with the products in question. OCZ learnt its lesson the hard way, the FW bug was real, and screwed some drives...but it was fixed and in my experience never gave me a single issue. OCZ today is a different company, literally and figuratively, much more QC and validation involved. For the price the Arc100 is the fastest most consistent of the entry level drives.
Not defending OCZ, Newegg has too few review, there are more at Amazon for those who are interested. http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B ... ewpoints=1

Which model was it?
Was tempted to grab the 480gb until hearing now that they have had issues.
I don't think the Kingston is really that POS if it were going into a Sata 2 system, similar to the Transcend SSD340, I'll jump into it if it were $79.99 but since it is same price as the OCZ, I'll rather risk with the OCZ since most if not all reviews for the 240GB are good.
It seems the 480GB has had some QC issues (going by NE reviews), but the smaller versions all seem to be reliable. OCZ RMA is actually quite good if you do run into problems - I assume they've had a lot of practice.
If your computer is less than 4 years old, chances are AHCI is enabled by default.
By the way, if you get the blue screen as in this website then it is another story. http://www.askvg.com/how-to-change-sata ... g-windows/
If the Kingston is $89.99 or 256GB, I would choose it over the OCZ, otherwise, I rather risk it, JMO.
I like keep adding ssd into my devices.
Correct me if I am wrong, the 460 is before Toshiba and 460A is after?
I bought mine thinking that Toshiba would have solved OCZ's problems, however, they are not there yet.
For the RMA, I'm still waiting for the replacement, hopefully they will send me a 460A and with luck this will last. Let's see.
I had OCZ, Adata and Mushkin ram failures in the past and annoyed by Mushkin since they refused to rma because I didn't have the original receipt which both OCZ and Adata did not ask for it.

Edit: keep in mind the difference comes as a newegg credit.
In general I am not hearing too many bad things with OCZ lately so I guess they are fine.
