View allbtw when you buy in ncix or memoryexpress, just ask for the latest manufactured date on the box, i got mine jan 2015 so it has the latest firmware.

not sure if that gives you an idea of something that would be a "nicer color / ips / re" panel for a little more. $450 seems to be a good price for that benq
Same thing but 27" - watch the video, decide for yourself!
im stuck between buying this at $330 or waiting for the $600-800 Freesync 2560x1440 IPS 144hz 27" panels coming soon... very hard call for me.
the viewing angles are not good, but not all IPs panels are amazing either. In the store this looked better then multiple IPS panels beside it on full desktop setups (not the wall of monitors, but an actual gpu). The 144hz makes everything very smooth, even on the desktop. In game its amazing, and for example these monitors have game modes that really help stuff like CS:GO dark spots and highlighting player models for better targeting.
if you want to fps - i can attest that 144hz is worth every penny. Since i returned my asus one a week ago, i havent played more then 15 minutes of cs:go because it just looks rediculously choppy / laggy to me. its terrible, i am screwed and need to find a new 144hz now.

hell - looking at any ips 2560x1440 is $450-500 and up right now for a north american retail brand. to get 1ms response with 144hz im down with spending $750 or less.
that will be prime spot imo (i dont like 4k @ 27-28" range, and who wants to rely on scaling). 2560x1440, 27", 144hz w/ freesync... perfect.

Assuming current day conversion, Enviro fee, free shipping, and 13% taxes, you're looking at $721.60 total.
144hz is crazy though, i cant play CS:GO anymore on my original 60hz, it looks choppy, laggy, just horrible.
now im stuck, because i dont know if i sohuld just try a diff asus panel, go for this benq (xl2411 vs 2420?) or wait for a freesync monitor for a few hundred more.
isnt the acer freesync marked at 499 usd or 599usd for launch?
Companies market? no way!
I'm waiting for G/Freesync IPS 144hz to mature and enter the sub $400 segment, which will probably take a few years.
I'm in no rush, as long as I keep enough GPU power to get high FPS this monitor will do the job for a few more years.
Black Equalizer is a nice feature for online FPS, it makes it easier to see enemies who lurk in dark corners and gives you all around better visibility.
I was hoping to nab an XL2730Z this year for the increased resolution and FreeSync, but the damn thing is $800.
Very tempted by this one. I would probably order from NCIX, though, as they guarantee version 2 of the firmware (for more usable strobe effects). Amazon might very well be selling the new ones but who knows.
My IPS panel is strictly for photos now.. Everything else: lightboost
