Koodo Mobile: Nexus 4 16GB $300 Outright, $150 TAB
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

Those of you in the market for a new smartphone might want to check out this deal courtesy of Koodo Mobile. Right now, they've discounted the popular Nexus 4 16GB to $300 outright or $150 with TAB. Buying the Nexus 4 straight from Google will cost you at least an extra $60 and that's not including shipping. If you could use an upgrade, and have the budget for a high end phone, this is one to consider. Some of its specs include:

  • 4.7" Diagonal Screen
  • 1280 x 768 Pixel Resolution (320 ppi)
  • WXGA IPS
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 2
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro
  • 8 MP Camera
  • 16 GB Internal Storage
  • 2GB RAM
  • Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)
  • 2,100 mAh Lithium Polymer Battery
  • Microphone, Accelerometer, Compass, Ambient Light, Gyroscope, Barometer, GPS

    • Do they let you buy the phone on prepaid, no tab? Got a $300 insurance claim for my broken N4, so I can't have it on tab.

Telus corp policy is to allow individual phone sales, but most stores will refuse without an activation. Also the "gift" is not available if you don't activate.

Ya noticed that. Every store I've asked won't outright sell me the phone.

I'm not on contract, so I don't mind using their service for awhile if necessary. Just not a 1+ year contract.

What if you paid $299 for the phone and left $1 on tab? That way you get to use almost your full insurance pay-out and collect $100 gc for new activation. Sign-up for the cheapest plan possible and cancel as soon as you get the gift.

    • So the 100 $ GC, can I apply it to my monthly bill or the Tab for that matter?

    • I'm still debating whether to get this or not. I'll be switching providers anyway so will be staying with Koodo for a data plan.

Isn't it usually a Visa card? Hopefully there are not terms that require part of the gift card is used for Koodo accessories. Generally it's a good idea to see if a Mobile Shop will match the $100 gift card offer. $100 PC card for groceries is good as cash. Groceries are a necessity.

    • At least at RCSS, they let me apply the $100 GC to the phone. I got S2X for my sister several months ago.

    • Koodo just dropped the price to 300 outright and 150 on the tab. Plus a 100 gift card.
Ignore the tab nonsense when talking about Koodo prices; it's just included to allow them to advertise apparently lower prices and confuse buyers.

The phone is $300 with a $100 gift card at some physical stores (net cost of $200), or with a $50 gift card online (net cost of $250).

Don't forget you will have to activate on a Koodo plan to get the $100 GC though.

No thanks. $100 that can basically only be used on super-inflated accessories at a phone kiosk when I can buy them from ebay at 1/4 (or less) the cost?
