In addition to its budget price, reviews were very positive online from Expert Reviews, PhotographyBlog, Engadget and PC Magazine. After skimming these reviews, the consensus is that even though it may lack some features of higher end cameras, its picture quality was top notch, it provides a lot of value at the sub $300 mark and sports solid build quality.
Shipping to Ontario is about $10 which isn't a deal breaker considering the price this side of the border is around $370.
Thanks to jakemtl for sharing this one with us!

View allWill probably want to swing by FS/BB to see if they still have a 5R for 400$ or wait and see what the 5T's replacement will be (since the a5000 replaces the 3N and has no phase detect).

I can confirm that even if it's not on the site, it sells in-store at $399 if they have it in stock.
(Just a note, the exchange rate makes this price not so far off Costco's price of $330 from not so long ago.)
I know that Canon is heavily discounting the EOS-M so I wouldn't mind paying more for the sony one, but I think that 250-ish would be much better.
And ya $100 is a lot less.
I successfully priced matched this camera at staples with BH and I also used a $10 coupon. Got the camera for $279 + Tax. Really surprised. No customs charges or anything. $316 after tax here in Ontario.
Thanks for posting OP! Shotty countries, here I come!
Nice lens, fast enough for most things and is the equivalent of a 35mm on a NEX body. My favourite NEX lens is the 50mm 1.8 but it's a beast to focus when not a well lit subject.

I guess I also wouldn't be overly devastated if I did lose a camera that was under $300...
And this camera beats the ***** out of the EOS-M
Having trouble deciding on this or the NEX 5R with 18-55mm lens at FS for $399. I am a casual user who really just wants to take a camera on my overseas trips and what not. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
My daughter has an old NEX 3 with SEL18-55 going for $150.
Think I'll hold out for the next Nex-6 deal however tempting as this is.
I'd probably pick one up!
