Kiehl's is running a Recycle and Be Rewarded promotion from April 18 through April 30. Just bring in any empty cosmetics container and they will reward you with a free Kiehl's Starter Kit in an environmentally friendly pouch.

All of the cosmetics containers will be sent to Cascade Recovery, which will use them to create flower pots, park benches and tables.

This offer is valid at free-standing Kiehl's stores only (which would exclude kiosk locations inside department stores). There's a limit of one offer per customer, while supplies last. Use this page to find the Kiehl's nearest you.

- Kiehl's replied on their Facebook page, as many people have been asking what kind of jar, well it can be any type of bottle or tube for example.

- I got mine at lunch in downtown Vancouver, robson street store. No hassles at all. Same items as mentioned above.

  I went to Kiehl's on Queen St. in Toronto. No problems whatsoever.

  incorrect...i handed in a body lotion container i got from a hotel and they accepted it.

- Went to Montreal location today, best freebie ever.
  I was with my bf and we gave them a hand soap bottle as well as little spray bottle (body mist kind). I had to ask the girl if my bf could get a kit too, she was about to say "it's one per customer" but he ended up getting samples as well.
  The men's kit has a "Facial Fuel" moisturizer, it's a blue tube. He kept that and gave me the rest ;p

- Picked mine up today at the Yonge/Eglinton location. The guiding principle as to what they'll accept is that the product must be recyclable. i.e. sample-size pouches cannot be recycled, they belong in the garbage, so they cannot be accepted.
  
  There was a lady who brought in a homeless person-like load of products she wanted to exchange for. They turned away each item: squeeze tubes, sample pouches,...

  That's the main reason for giving away the samples. The recycling is a nice way of going about it.

  True, it's just because I was comparing this experience to when I got a free #1 lip balm from them. That time, instead of me having to give any personal info, they gave me additional samples in addition to the free product!

  - Ultimate Strength Hand Salve 30ml
  - Ultra Facial Cleanser 30ml
  
  I didn't get a pouch. They were all wrapped nicely with tissue paper.
