    • It looks like it will be a monthly occurence now. I have been avoiding filling up the tank near the end and at the beginning of the month for just this reason.

I've bought lottery tickets to get me to the $50 mark and it worked.

    • any specific station where they sell gift cards? And can you put any denomination on it? Say $20 gas + $30 on gift card?

I believe all stations sell gift cards and the gift cards that I've seen are normally in $25 or $50 denominations.

    • Has anyone gotten the full 50 airmiles for filling up $20 in V power + $30 in regular gas?

I did this on May 4th and May 13th and my statement shows:

      STANDARD OFFER +2
      BIG DEAL WEEKEND +25

    • Actually how would you get multiple grades of fuel on the same transaction? You have to tell the cashier before hand? I thought once the pump starts you have to "reset" and start another transaction to get a different grade.

It would seem the other method $25V-power+$25 gas card is more straightforward. Thanks OP will keep the tank low until next week LOL!

+1 if you redeem as Air Miles cash without a promotion:

      $10 for 95AM = 10.5c/AM or $5.26 for 50AM.

    • Actually, we were all so worried about not being able to hit the $50 mark. Don't worry people, with the gas prices now, you just hope you don't go over too much.......

    • No 25 AM for regular gas anymore?

just as Shell got me interested with their promotions they've now pushed me away. I'm not paying Shell's top tier price + the cost of premium I don't need just to get airmiles. Another AM company gets the 2 finger salute from me.

These promos are designed for customers that pay full pop. Weekends are highest cost for fuel + they want u to pay for premium.

    • Doh! I missed this the last 4 months. Oh well...better late than ever.

      Two questions:

      1) Can this be combined with the Bonus Card offer like the one from last fall? I have one that is valid until July 31.

      2) Is there a limit on how many miles can be accumulated in one weekend with this offer? I could easily spend $125 in gas if both my vehicles are empty...that could be up to 250 air miles.

not sure about your second question but it can't combine with the bonus card offer.

My local Shell sells lots of gift cards.... LCBO, CT, Caras (Harveys/SwissChalet), etc. Also top-up cards for Wind.

The branded MasterCard gift cards always have activation fees, so avoid those!

About your second question, if we assume you want to purchase gas worth $125, so do 5 transactions, each one ($25 gas + $25 GCs) or ($20 gas+ store purchases or if you can find GCs worth $30).
I usually purchase gas + SDM GCs or CT GCs which i will use to pay for my next fill up.
