Hyundai 2012 Elantra Touring $15899 + 0% Financing
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

Automakers are in the process of clearing out 2012 models, and Hyundai has a tempting offer at the moment if you are looking for an affordable car with lots of storage. The Hyundai 2012 Elantra Touring GL can be had for $15,899 and comes with automatic transmission and air conditioning. On top of that, 0% financing for 48 months is available. Here's a quick look at some of the Touring GL's features:

  • 2.0L DOHC Engine / 4-Speed Automatic Transmission
  • Dual Front/Front-Side and Side Curtain Airbags
  • Keyless Entry and Security Alarm System
  • AM/FM/CD/AUX/USB/MP3 Player with 4 speakers
  • Power Windows & Power Door Locks
  • 60/40 Split Folding Rear Seats
  • Heated Front Seats
  • Air Conditioning
  • Tinted Glass
  • Power Heated Mirrors

The Elantra Touring is definitely worth considering if you're looking for something practical and affordable. This 4-door hatchback has lots of passenger space and a very roomy cargo area. It's not a bad drive either, and has a long warranty and nice features at the price. You can check out some full impressions at Edmunds.

    • Looks like Hyundai is clearing out the rest of the 2012 Hyundai Elantra Touring's. Here's their latest ad:

      http://www.hyundaicanada.com/Pages/S...romotions.aspx

They're promoting the Touring GL which has AC and is manual transmission for $15,995 including delivery and destination fees (based on the Ontario ad/pricing). So basically just add HST and you're out the door. You can get 48 months of 0% financing on top of that. If you go use their pricing tool you can get the Touring GL with automatic transmission for $15,899.

There is an ongoing Hyundai deal thread too:

      http://forums.redflagdeals.com/hyund...icing-1022657/

but this wasn't there and I think it's pretty hot so I thought I'd start a separate thread.

I own the 2010 version of this car and it's been problem free so far. Very roomy for it's size and just tonnes of truck space with the folding seats. I bought it probably for about 20% more than what it's selling for now so this seems pretty hot to me.

The replacement is going to be the Elantra GT and that's starting from $20,644.
15899 is the price without Delivery and Destination, after that is 17,394. Manual always cheaper

    • There is a new one coming, just FYI: http://www.motortrend.com/auto_shows...gt_first_look/

I know it is not a full wagon but a hatch, but the newer huyndais are leaps and bounds ahead of the last generation of hyundais. Unlike the 2012 Civic...
Not coming, it's already here...as mentioned by the OP and in the flyer.

For the auto version its extra

    • You'd have to be an idiot to buy a 2012 Hyundai Elantra Touring considering the new one is lightyears ahead...
But for much more, and you then will have to consider the other cars in the class. At under $16,000 pre-tax, its a very good price. No doubt the GT is better in almost every way (sans cargo I think?), that's still a lot of change.

...unless you like the higher cargo volume of the Elantra Touring and are annoyed that they shrank it in the GT.

I own the 2010 version of this car ...
A true RFD'er. Sell a company for megabucks and still choose to buy a Hyundai.

    • Except the GT price is also light years ahead of the 2012's. Did you notice the GT/Auto is only $1150 cheaper than the Sonata GL Auto? Hmmmm.....

    • FWIW, I own a 2009 with 100 000 km on it and have had no problems. Only minor annoyances: The plastics are cheap and so they mark easy and there is some bad wiring in the stereo so I get a ground loop when I try to charge my iPhone and use the aux at the same time. Otherwise Im very happy.

Is the ground loop the buzzing I hear when I'm charging my ipod and using the aux in at the same time?

    • Checked out the 2013 GT today, very nice car but not as practical as the Vibe/Matrix. And the Sonata definitely a better deal for just $1150 more.

At this price, the Prius C maybe a better deal, especially if you drive in the City a lot.

    • Hyundai is a garbage company. Cars are made of garbage parts as well. Bought a 2011 Accent a year ago and air conditioner already died. Customer Service is the worst. Gave me the run around. Contacted Head Office. They too gave me the run around. I have been through many dealerships and never been treated like this. HORRIBLe and highly advise buying another car. Although I have low monthly payments on this car, my experience has been so bad, I truly would rather have bought a better car and pay an extra $40 - $50 a month.

Do you notice something? Hyundai Canada does not use any form of Social Media, and they know why. When you search Facebook and Twitter you only find Hyundai USA,

Yeah. I asked the dealership to fix it and they tried to sell me a special Hyundai cable. Total b.s. the issue is in how the equipment is grounded.

You can get a ground loop filter from the source or Canadian tire. They work pretty well but it's another cable on your dash. (connects between audio out on iPod and the aux in on the stereo)

That sucks, you should expand on your entire experience in the automotive section, you might be able to get some advice.

They do use social media, and if you can't manage to find them, well, the real problem might be somewhere between the seat and the steering wheel

    • The GT is not bad, I just don't like the price. If it is $2500 cheaper than the Sonata, I will definitely go for it.

I thought the Cee'd is North America Forte. When will the 2013 Forte/Cee'd come out?

I hope the Toyota Matrix will prevail as Corolla Hatch.

GT doesn't sound that impressive in the reviews I've read so far and I still want more cargo space. The 2013 Kia Cee'd is upcoming option, but also might be too expensive:

    • Have to wonder about Hyundai's loyalty to customers though. My Mom bought the Touring 3 months ago and is very happy, but a little miffed now that her car has been devalued by AN EXTRA $4 grand.... but what is worse she recently used the customer loyalty offer and referred a friend who purchased the same car a little over a week ago...and paid the $19K list. A call to the dealer today to try and price match was met with nothing but excuses.

I guess the lesson learned here is to not buy a new car, until the next years model is offered! Thanks Hyundai for nothing

I think that goes without saying. If you're going to buy new, wait for the deals!
