    • prefer CAA , Ct's offers usually means , we'll bring your car to our closest Auto center .CAA Plus , you decide .Plus there were deals for around $20 buying their roadside assistance kits lol

    • Includes one oil change. Crappy Tire lists it as $29.99 value whereas you can get $20 oil changes in many places. Anyway, it means the membership costs $20-30 after the oil change.

Difference with CAA is it's per vehicle whereas CAA covers the driver regardless of which car the member is driving.

As per the membership guide: towed to the service provider of the member's choice.

The link is by making a phone call and quoting the discount code. Believe it or not, not every offer is online. Don't worry; the telephone reps probably won't bite.

I have free oil changes with my car so no use for that free oil change... can I give the free oil change to someone or is it tied to the car you register?

Thanks OP. Just signed up to renew my existing one which was also bought when it was 50% off and is expiring in 3 weeks. Even better is that now it can be towed to the service provider of my choice which is different from last year I recalled that could only tow to the nearest CanadianTire store.

    • If you cross the borders, CAA and AAA are partners, Canadian Tire Road Assistance isn't.. not saying this isn't a deal for anyone who is in Canada only, just something I didn't know
Who told you that CT is not available in US?

    • Sorry, I think I read it in another thread on here. It seems it is available in the US, I was wrong.

I have Canadian Tire roadside assistance for 7 years, I got my car towed from Toronto to Kitchener without issues. You have a lot of assumptions. They will tow within 250KM upto 5 times and unlimited to a CT.

I wish I could renew my subscription, mine expires in October. I will try to call and check with them.

Unlimited towing to a CT? So each time going from Toronto to Kitchener you could ask for a tow, then drive from the CT at Kitchener? That'll save on gas.

    • I think what he meant was that it's unlimited KM to CT (but 5 times/year limit applies) whereas to any other garage, its limited to 250KM.

"UNLIMITED NUMBER OF TOWS TO CANADIAN TIRE
      SERVICE CENTERS
are supplied by a Service Provider within the distance
limits established in the plan you selected. If you
choose to be towed to a Canadian Tire Service Centre,
the tow does not count against your annual limit of
service calls (that’s 5 calls per year with the Gold Plan
and 3 calls per year with the Silver Plan)."

      I think I'll grab this.

Also wondering about this as mine expires in August. I've been able to bargain with them the last couple of years to get the Gold for $75 when there's been no promotion on. But this is obviously better. They might tack it on without charging until it's due. I've found the phone people to be pretty good over the years.

    • Anyone know what the best promotion is for CAA? Dont expect $49.99 but kinda like the member vs car membership.

      Thanks.

They're 2 different programs. CAA covers the driver while CT covers the car.

. Unlimited tows to nearest CT not any CT.

    • Called to try and activate, and the rep asked for my employee #. I said I don't have one and just saw there is a promo code, and apparently it is only for Canadian Tire employees.
      YMMV.

I would call in again. The offer clearly states it is open to more than 6-digit employee-number employees

    • There is another option outside of CT or CAA.

      TD Auto Club.

      https://www.tdcanadatrust.com/produc...s/autoclub.jsp
PDF files about what is included in each tier of service (Standard and Deluxe) can be found on the right hand side on the site.

I am not sure of the opt-in costs for those two services, an old thread mentioned $30/$39 Standard/Deluxe, but that's from Aug 2010.
If those prices are accurate then it is a better deal then CT Gold membership.

If you have a Gold Elite Visa you already have the Deluxe package, obviously you can get around the annual card fee by having a select service account.
Just throwing this information out there for people that might want more out of their emergency tow services.

I agree with the OP here. It's one of those promotions like "Friends and Family Sale." It's inconsequential that you work for CT. Maybe you worded it strangely? Who knows. Also, it's a long weekend, so maybe whomever you spoke to wasn't very experienced.

I'm not calling until Tuesday when the regular employees are (possibly) there and I can (maybe) get someone to agree to tack on a year at this rate even though my current year doesn't expire until August. I would definitely try again if I were you.
