View allThis morning I tried it with frozen Pierogi, pretty decent and can produce a crispy texture.
Just a warning, the first time I used it it has a plastic smell in my food. after using it a couple times it is better. put some bread in there and actifry it before you make a real meal. The bread will help absorb the new plastic smell.
Nobody promised better... but close, and the fact that you only need 1 Tbsp of oil with raw potatoes is a huge plus over the oven.
Now health concerns aside, you know what it does do really well? it does a bang-up job on chicken wings. I start adding sauce every 4-5 mins starting when they're 90% done.
EDIT: oops, sorry to bump a dead deal. But the regular price at Costco is decent!
The biggest concern is the counter space lost. Will probably be packing mine up to return....
mine is 1400W also.

Anyway, fries turned out great.
Thx.
I think the deal is now dead as well.. link to item is a 404.
i feel like you are missing out on a lot by not getting the family model....
But what I really like making is fried chicken wings. I get a package of 10-12 chicken wings for only 5 dollars from my local supermarket. I sprinkle salt and Italian seasoning on the chicken wings. Then I put them in the ActiFry for 35 minutes. Great tasting wings that is much better than fried chicken from KFC or Popeyes. Much cheaper since I only paid 5 dollars for the chicken wings. The only problem is that the Italian seasoning coats the ActiFry spinner and it is difficult to clean it.
I think the system will only send out a code if your e-mail address has not been registered before.
Pros:
Note
this Gourmet model holds 2.2 lbs
the $189 Costco model holds 2.6 lbs
the Actifry Family (~$217 at Costco) handles 3.3 lbs
a lot of the time, it just started to push food around instead of flipping it and once you started to get in stuff like chicken wings, sometimes a wing would make the machine get stuck and sort of jump or stutter. definitely wasn't worth it for us. whoever said they made steak - wow it must have been like a 4-6oz size.
Can someone confirm this?
