View allI wouldn't mind trying them, although I'm pretty sure the quality is much lower than the genuine Nespresso pods.
The machines also require very little maintenance.
It's also worth noting that when you become a Nespresso club member, you get free coffee at any Nespresso store. They serve it in a glass mug so you have to drink it there and can't take it to go, but it's nice. You can get as many free coffees as you want while you're in the store even if you don't buy any pods.
I usually stop by for a free coffee when I'm at Sherway Gardens.
Any Black Friday deals on them?
You can also walk into a Nespresso boutique with the bill and redeem the offer (min 50 capsules)

I have the second generation (flat top is the second generation, the oval top is the first and some people say it wasn't hot enough) and I must say it's hot and the BEST coffee I've had at home (I do areopress and grind my own beans and I still find Nespresso is the best coffee for me).
It is more expensive then Keurig (which I also have) but you can't compare the two. I figure it's still cheaper then the motor oil Tim Hortons sells and even McDs coffee.
Hope this clears things up
Edit: they always have promos like buy 100 pods and get free shipping and a free mug (it's double walled and actually my favorite mug now) but if ya don't wanna order that many just pay the flat fee...usually comes within 1 to 2 days. I swear this coffee is like crack, I can't get off it. Also if you look into what Nespresso does (as well as George Clooney) they gave back to the communities, free trade and all that jazz of you care.
If you want individual coffee though I think its better and much cheaper (but takes longer) to grind manually with a porlex and do pourover or aeropress.
You then have a travel option too.
Will look right now..

The rep also said the one with the "swingable" tank has the hotter setting as well ; Other machine
There is also a $25 coffee credit if you let the rep register the machine today. Only problem is you have to order coffee today and S&H is about $7 (IIRC).
The Bay has all the Vertuoline machines on sale so better to get one of those, if "hotness" is a concern and you want something newer.
I guess one needs to use 2 capsules + hot water to get 10oz of americano's worth
Edit: math fail
I suppose one can also do 2x espresso (1.35oz) and add 9oz of water to get a nice larger ~12 oz out of it?
Got the Lattissima a few years ago. Averaging less than 10 cups per week, still as reliable as the first day I got it.

Edit: Looks like the Citiz just does Espresso and I would need something from the VertuoLine for coffee as well.
Still cheaper than using 2 OriginalLine even at 75c/ea
It's only 5g of coffee per capsules too...so for an Americano, most like you'll need 2 capsules for a double shot (ouch)
Pros for Keurig - cheap pods, hotter coffee, can top up a mug using same pod.
Pros for Nespresso - much better coffee, easier specialty coffees.
Almost apples and oranges. We use the Keurig for dailies and Nespresso for special occasions.
Great coffee though
Does anyone have any ideas on the cost of the pods? Worth it?
