View allI didn't really know about the racist/sexist/anti-fat people/anti-nerds/etc accusations (or maybe I did and forgot) but I always felt like you had to pass a certain point on the do-she-ness meter to pull off wearing their stuff (but some of that's probably me judging from the kinds of people I see wearing their stuff.. we all do it so move on)
After skimming through some of the stuff you guys posted, I'm finding A&F's "exclusionary" approach pretty interesting...
CEO Mike Jeffries made the following comments to an interviewer for Salon.com: "That's why we hire good-looking people in our stores. Because good-looking people attract other good-looking people, and we want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don't market to anyone other than that.” ... “In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids. Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don't belong [in our clothes], and they can't belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.”
Of course he did go on to apologize later and pretty much take the exact opposite stance so he's probably a really great guy... Not that there anything wrong with marketing to cool young people, but expect to alienate and cause controversy when you explicitly state your how exclusionary your brand is..
Apology from 2013: He also stated, "We are completely opposed to any discrimination, bullying, derogatory characterizations or other anti-social behavior based on race, gender, body type or other individual characteristics."
Also stated that his words were taking out of context in case anybody cares.

Not defending the company, but some of you are the biggest hypocrites. Pick on one company and turn your eyes away from others. Nike, reebok, adidas, make use of sweatshop, better not by any of their shoes than. Hooters hire busty babes, better not eat there. List goes on...
It's not political correctness. It's court-certified racism.

"On April 14, 2005, Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California granted final approval to a settlement of Gonzalez v. Abercrombie & Fitch Stores. The settlement requires the company to pay $40 million to several thousand minority and female plaintiffs who charged the company with discrimination. "
Oh, there are also another 3 pages of lawsuits they are being sued for discriminating their employee and customers.
Even if you are an A&F fanboy, you can't ignore the fact that A&F discriminates their customers/employees and get sued most frequently in the clothing industry. That's fact.
That's why A&F has a strong image of racism and gay as illustrated in MadTV. I laugh so hard at Asian, Latino and blacks who wear A&F.
This is also why roots is much better than A&F.
Roots is THE WORST when it comes to refilling stock
the hoodie is out of my size online.
Either you're all "made in canada" or your not. You cant double dip and expect have the price be justified. And no they are not "PREMIUM" clothing. Educate yourself please
But I do agree Roots is way too over priced.
In the past I've got some great deals from roots.ca, back when they allowed stacking of discounts+code, could get a $100 item(eg.Hoody) on sale for $60 + 40% off code = $36 and free shipping on orders over $100, tees were max. $12 after discounts.

A&F is the only clothing company known for being racist.

MadTV even have a skits about it.

Maybe it is okay for white people to wear it, I would stay away from it.
I wouldn't save a few bux to support discrimination, especially comparable brand like Roots is price competitive in sales like this.
For the longest time I thought Roots was a "Made in Canada" company that is what I thought justified their pricing. But now its all made in China, i dont tend to buy their stuff
at checkout the sale price of $117.99 is reduced to $70.79
btw, i'm using google chrome
A&F is a racist brand. I wouldn't consider them even if they are dirt cheap.
Here, I hosted the image for all you beautiful people
EDIT: nevermind, doesn't seem to work on leather stuff.
