Banana Republic is hosting a new Power Lunch promotion this morning which may be of interest if you're looking for some new officewear. From 11AM-2PM local time, you can take 40% off full-priced pants and belts.

This offer is running in stores and online, today only. If you plan on shopping online, the promotion is running from 11AM-2PM EST and you will need to apply promo code BRCDAPOWER at checkout.

As always, free shipping is available on orders over $50. This offer is not valid at Banana Republic Factory Stores, and cannot be combined with any other offers or discounts.

  Yea, their quality/price point isn't very good, but -40% is not bad if you REALLY need a belt or an extra pair of pants.

  I believe the price reflects that fact that they're meant to be bought as a complete suit. When on sale (40% off), BR suits are actually very reasonable in terms of price/quality.

- Banana Republic is very over-priced. The only time the prices even come close to matching the quality is when they have their 40% or 50% off sales (and even then it's questionable). This is why they have the sales so often - because that's the only time any reasonable person would purchase the items. The original sky-high prices are set in place for BR to make exuberant profits off of people who don't think about what they're spending and are wasteful with their money. This way they get the best of both worlds - selling at really high prices to those who just don't care, and also selling to those who actually think about what they're getting for their money, by having drastic sales frequently.

  Putting in an honest day's work is obviously a foreign concept to marketing departments. Perhaps they should study their demographic/clientele/targetted customers.
