      HDMI is basically DVI + audio + optional encryption (that's why Hollywood pushed hard for it), and most monitor speakers are low-quality, so it's a setup that's rarely used. In your case, I think you want to use the monitor like a TV (switching between different feeds). High-end Dell monitors do have an HDMI input and multiple DVI inputs.

      Just about jumped on this deal today. Ended up shaving 1.5" off of the screen and $45 off of the price tag here:

      Good deal if you're near a Canada Computers that has any stock left. I grabbed the last one from Markham-Unionville today.

      You could even go a little cheaper for a 21.5" IPS w/ HDMI if you're willing to take a hit on response time:

      But if you're dead-set on a 23" IPS w/ HDMI, the LG IPS from NCIX looks to be the best bargain out there right now.

      Been looking for a monitor for my new system and came down to u2312hm because of the colour reproduction, view angle, tilt pivot stand, very little input lag, and the price.
      Lowest I seen for this was $175 awhile ago? So $179.10 still a very sweet price for this awesome monitor

      It seems to work if you go through Small Business. I've just tested it on Vostro 460 i7-2600 deal ($749.00 before and $674.10 after coupon).

      I think the one MAJOR plus for the dell 2312hm is the adjustable stand.... not only can you tilt the display but you can swivel the stand at least 90 degrees left and right as well as move the display up and down. Also, you can rotate the display 90 degrees for a vertical monitor which I find pretty useful. The integrated usb hub is nicel but ever since I got a dock for my laptop I haven't been using it as much.

    • there are a few drawbacks to buying e-ips some of which have already been mentioned in this thread. with a discount code i would buy a monitor that is so good you would not mind the extra cost. the u2410 is the last great 24" panel from dell and uses a better h-ips panel. also does not suffer the bad resolution of 1920x1080 as it is 1920x1200 which is the proper resolution for screens that size. it is a noticeable difference. although IPS and e-ips panel is not as good as a h-ips or s-ips. connections mentioned earlier are another drawback to e-ips at dell. i would use a 10% discount towards something better like the u2410.
