    • Was able to use the coupon against purchase, but credit only up to sale price of $7.99 (instead of the full $14) being applied. With taxes worked out to a total cost of $1.04

Not bad for a buck , so basically tax on $7.99 ?

    • I assume that most in Ontario will be like "Wait till the sale is over next week and get it for $5.99" Lol. So not much of a difference between now and then, just $2 cheaper when its back to original price + coupon.

Can anyone who has this or bought it recently can comment regarding the tread measure feature?

    • Failed at the two Rhill locations. Said they wouldn't apply the coupon due to it being "on sale" already.
The managers at both locations know about the use of these coupons from the OBD2 deal. haha.

    • I don't get the appeal of a digital tire gauge. The regular ones without batteries work perfectly fine.

The calibration on the mechanical ones go bad too easily. I find the digital one much more accurate.

    • Back to Canadian Tire I go... Thanks OP!

Oh wait, do you hear that? I think it is another thread starting of complainers that "the sale price includes the coupon..." I guess they can't add (or subtract actually)... Perhaps someone with a ODB code reader can explain it to you?

Digital may be more accurate, but I like the feel and precision of an analog gauge better. Plus a bleeder valve is a must for me.
That being said, I've dropped an analog gauge once and it was done for... So that's another down side.

I'll try my luck on this deal at lunch time.

    • i paid for mine and the store manager stopped as i was leaving and voided the transaction and refunded me i was going to raise a stink, but not worth it. they were arguing that it was already on sale so the coupon doesn't apply. also OOS on the OBD scanner.

Wow, why would you agree to that? These stores not accepting the coupons are a bunch of idiots. The coupons do not state for regular priced items only, nor do they exclude sale items.

Actually it does - offer cannot be combined with discounts or other offers. Hence the discount being the sale... They're somewhat smart as in they look at the T&S, if they didn't then it would be easy breezy. I am sure they must be getting lots of people coming in for these two, so they're on high alert lol.

You had product and receipt in hand and were leaving. I would have told him to buzz off and excused myself.

If you buy other stuff at the same time and go thru the normal cashier, they will apply the $14 to your transaction total. At least that's what they did for me a couple of times yesterday, netting $14 off the transaction each time.

You mean like small priced items? They wouldn't care? Is it because people are only going for the one item and it looks more suspicious? One tried that for the OBD reader but still got denied... What if one photo shopped the part where it says it cannot be applied with any other discounts, blah blah and tried it lol?

Too bad I don't know any employee working in CTire

dat little needle bouncing around, it's awesome
Seriously though, I autocross and track my car throughout the summer and I OCD-ingly adjust my tire pressures as the temperatures change. So I use my gauge a lot.

I tried the coupon at Eglinton & Warden location. They didn't accept it.

Ymmv I guess. Did it with a bag of grass seed yesterday afternoon, regular $16.99 on for $9.99. Added the $7.99 tire guage, paid $4 and change after taxes.

Same yesterday evening, bought a tfal cooking pan on sale for $11.99, an anchor hocking insulated bag and serving pan set for around $20ish, plus the tire guage. Total was $27 or so with tax.
