    • There selection is narrowing each sale. 369 Eligible Glasses for Men. Last sale maybe there was maybe 400+. maybe they will re appear on the list latter but a few of the nicer more brand name pairs work work anymore.

      How are they making any money? Even if they didn't have to pay for shipping and if the frames were free to them, could they really make money selling glasses for $15 for the lenses alone? Just curious...

      Markup on glasses are so high you'd be surprised. $15 will more than cover the cost of making them and shipping, and will still profit from them. So to answer your question; no we are not worried they are going out of business. See sites like; http://www.zennioptical.com/ ...shows you glasses can be even cheaper.

      They're based here in Vancouver and I had a friend who spent a couple months putting together glasses last summer. He was paid a rate of $12 or $13 per hour so they definitely lose money.

      If you look at their financial records from the last quarter, they are losing money. But I think they're trying to build up their customer base. Maybe their trying to sell their business. Their contact lens business is supplementing their glasses business.

      The mark up on glasses are high in the retail stores, but when CC sells them for $15, they are losing money. But seriously, everything is marked up high in retail stores. You don't think that shirt in Banana Republic that's made in china isn't marked up a couple hundred percent???

      well worth the price for actual prescription glasses.

      This current promo looks like depleted/remaining stock that is reserved for firstpairfreeca code.
      no visible brand names like emporio armani or d&g anymore, but fore some good basic pair of glasses.
      might browse for another random pair =)

      I'm seeing quite a few obvious women's frames in the men's section, and far too many "sold out"s too. Hope this isn't a sign that they're closing down. They're still running regular TV ads though.

      Erm... you ordered last week... and this? Short memory or what? I wouldn't be surprised if they catch this and cancel your "not first pair" order.

      Just curious though, did you receive reflective or non-reflective lenses? I ordered a frameless pair (Magic Clip) from them last year, but the reflections leave them stuck in my drawer, as an emergency backup pair.

    • Thanks OP. Ordered a pair of the Esprit 9275 because the nice Esprit 9354s were all gone.

      I completely forgot to check measurements of the frame before I ordered so hopefully they will fit my face. I am overweight and I have a pretty chubby face :/

      Your optometrist might not want to touch these glasses. (previous reports have surfaced that they didn't even want to adjust the nose piece!)(I think it's certain doctors only)

      This deal seems to be a weekly deal for now.

      You're better off waiting to get your prescription, and order directly from CC... It will be much cheaper as well

    • Men's selection is pretty much limited to their own "house brands" now.

      I was surprised to see so many Hardy frames still available, but I noticed on CBC News tonight that R. Hardy is actually the CEO of CC. So add that line to the mostly gay-sounding other in-house lines they offer, like Joseph Marc, Kam Dhillon, Derek Cardigan, etc.

      Still, once they restock with outside brands, I'll probably order from them again. The price is a lot better than the store I used to deal with. (But at least my insurance plan covered that).
