Back to School: Laptop Buying Tips
By Anthony Chan
August 20, 2012Tablets are the latest must-have gadget, but if you ask us, they won't be replacing laptops for school any time soon as long as you still have to write essays and reports. Here are some money saving tips:
- Don’t run out and buy the first laptop you see or can put your hands on. Do some research beforehand. Read some product reviews and be armed with knowledge of features and general pricing.
- This one is easy! Keep an eye on laptop deals here at RedFlagDeals.com! Between coupons and hot sales you can find productivity laptop in the neighbourhood of $400-$500 dollars without too much trouble If you check back often, you might even find some great buys at the $300-$400 mark.
- Buy according to your needs. If the real goal of your laptop is productivity (and it should be, right?), you probably don’t need a $2500 laptop with all the trimmings.
- Size matters. It might be nice to watch movies on a big screen, but space is a luxury in some classrooms and lecture halls. A smaller laptop will be easier on your back, too.
- Save some money for accessories. Things like a comfortable bag, wireless mouse, USB key, and headphones can add up. Budget accordingly
Just like in school, doing your homework when buying your laptop will pay off. If you make an informed purchase now, you will save money and probably the hassle of having to replace or upgrade your computer(s) next year!
